An adaptive RSSE-PSP receiver with a pre-filter for EDGE systems

چکیده
An adaptive reduced-state sequence estimation (RSSE) receiver based on per-survivor processing (PSP) in conjunction with a local decision feedback equalizer (DFE) for the EDGE system with 8PSK modulation is proposed in this paper. A prefilter prior to the RSSE-PSP is exploited to reshape the channel impulse response (CIR) to have approximately a minimum phase property. The pre-filter settings are computed indirectly by estimating the CIR from the midamble with the least squares algorithm and then applying the minimum-mean square error (MMSE) criterion to reshape the estimated CIR. The proposed scheme handles the first part of the sampled CIR by the RSSEPSP and the rest by the local DFE, which utilizes the decision per survivor mechanism for reducing the error propagation and complexity reduction. A good trade-off between the performance and complexity could be achieved by retaining the RSSE-PSP for good performance and local DFE for intersymbol interference cancellation. Computer simulations indicate that the RSSE-PSP with a pre-filter works well in ISI channels with a lower computation burden. Spoofing Mitigation of GPS Receiver using Least Mean Squares-Based Adaptive Filter
The Global Positioning System (GPS) signals are very weak signal over wireless channels, so they are vulnerable to in-band interferences. Therefore, even a low-power interference can easily spoof GPS receivers. Among the variety of GPS signal interference, spoofing is considered as the most dangerous intentional interference. The spoofing effects can mitigate with an appropriate strategy in the...
متن کاملPer-Survivor Processing: a general approach to MLSE in uncertain environments
Abstract— Per-Survivor Processing (PSP) provides a general framework for the approximation of Maximum Likelihood Sequence Estimation (MLSE) algorithms whenever the presence of unknown quantities prevents the precise use of the classical Viterbi algorithm. This principle stems from the idea that data-aided estimation of unknown parameters may be embedded into the structure of the Viterbi algorit...

In this study, a fractal, Y-shaped dual-mode resonator bandpass filter (BPF) with input-output cross-coupling is introduced. A parallel-coupling feed structure with a cross coupling has been used to generate two transmission zeroes (TZs) near the lower and upper cutoff frequency that can effectively improve the passband edge selectivity. Also, a fractal shaped based on conventional diamond and ...

A per-survivor processing (PSP) maximum likelihood sequence detection (MLSD) receiver is developed for a fast time-varying frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel with colored additive noise which follows an auto-regressive (AR) model with unknown parameters. The correlation between noise samples is exploited to considerably enhance the performance of the communications. The maximum likelih...

In radar detection, the existence of the clutter edge in the reference samples considerably degrades the performance of the detector. Hence, clutter edge estimation not only improves the CFAR detectors, but also can be used for partitioning the various areas of the clutter in the clutter map. In this paper, we propose an adaptive algorithm for detecting the clutter edge between two Weibull clut...
